After one year of working, the artist gives a week of paid vacation, after two years the employee receives two weeks, and it remains as such for the duration of the time working for the artist. Due to the undulating nature of work for shows and fairs, the Artist allows employers to take longer breaks after commitments are met, freeing up employees to focus on their own practice or travel. Work shifts consist of 8 hours, with two 15 minute breaks and an hour-long, non-paid lunch. Studio hours are 10am-6pm, Monday through Friday. *The Artist is willing to consider part-time applicants, provided that she/he can commit to a minimum of 21-28 hours per week. Full time* status will be put into effect in August 2019. This is a full time position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period (1-2 months). Respirators, masks, face shields, goggles, ear muffs / plugs, gloves, bodysuits and aprons are provided. The Studio Manager at times may be working with equipment, chemicals, and processes that may be potential health and safety hazards, thus, wearing protective equipment is mandatory. High school diploma or equivalent experience, though a BA, BFA and/or MFA is preferredģ+ years of relevant experience as a manager or assistant. An interest in contemporary art could be beneficial but is not required. Experience with shop maintenance and tools would be helpful. A working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, digital scanning and 3D modeling would be a big plus. Knowledge of QuickBooks would also be helpful. Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must. She or he absolutely must have an unassailable ability to create and maintain consistency and order within multiple areas of the studio operation. Our ideal candidate would be someone who is both meticulous and flexible, someone who is comfortable in a creative and casual environment and who does well working with minimal supervision. The manager will also be responsible for the maintenance of an artwork database using Filemaker. Duties include bookkeeping, inventory management of incoming and outgoing artworks, managing supplies for both office and studio, handling correspondence as well as the digitization and data management of an extensive archive of images, press and ephemera.
